Colby Management, An Associa® Company Helps Small Community Get New Roofs

This 26-unit condominium community located in Sun City, Arizona has been managed by Colby Management, An Associa® Company, since 2019.

Challenge:

The small community signed a contract to get new roofs, but the contractor did not honor their price.

Resolution:

At first, the community levied a special assessment to pay for the new roofs. The cost of the special assessment was close to the initially agreed-upon contract, and the vendor told the community they would honor the original price if payment was received by a specific deadline. The association sent the signed contract in before the deadline, only for the vendor to say they could no longer honor the contract for that price. The community had no choice but to back out of the bid. Thankfully, Colby Management, An Associa® Company, helped the board obtain estimates that didn’t require an additional special assessment, and the community was able to install the new roofs.
